Julmarknad

It is Christmas market at Ekenäs now.

So Iris and Whizzy had to go to their first market, hadn’t they? We took our chance when the market closed for the day, when the seller was still there and the last customer got something to eat. First I brought Whizzy. She found it a little bit scary and on a market place there is now place for even a little bit scared. So we got on our normal walk, behind the buildings where the sellers kept their cars, lorries and campers. We watched the lights at the entrance (don’t burn your muzzle, Whizzy!) and then entered again, walking across it all. She had calmed down and just walked throw. I think she do great in crowds if she only get more used to it!

Iris was more stressed at first, but we found a seller that liked to pet her so Iris stopped there and nearly got into his shop to try (or buy?) some jam and cheese. Just like her mother has tried before. Then Iris was calm. We got around the back of the market with all the cars, campers etc, looked at the lights and then back into the market. Someone clean a food basin and that sounded a bit strange but otherwise was it fine according to Iris.

So, both horses did great! It is so interesting to watch this first reaction as I believe that it shows me how easily they calm down and accept this type of environment. It probably show how hard it is going to be to get them to be ok with show without a lot of training. I think both is going to be  easy to bring to events in the future! Just as I hoped for!
