Honey – fler bilder

Honey with the herd

Finally time to let Honey get to know all the others. Calinka was grumpy so she had to wait to meet Honey until Percy and Iris had got a chance to check her out. Percy showed who was the boss but I didn’t expect anything else. Bunny got to wait a day to meet the newcomer as she kept Pepper company. She also told Honey her place but there were hardly any running as the others already had made up. I really like my big herd – it is so nice to be able to keep all mares together.

Whizzy & Honey stayed together a lot.

Iris

By some reason Percy was irritated by insects the day before so she still was wearing a protective rug. Otherwise none of my horses has this Summer.

But, Pepper needs to get company to so I have keep someone with him as well. Still, it is nice to be able to rotate the mares and they often seems to work as one herd – calling out for the others even if separate pastures.  And when they know each other there is usually no problem to move horses from one of the pastures to another.

I woke up early and couldn’t relax so I went to the horses that were just outside to see that everything was ok….

Honey ankomst

I think she liked to be in a pasture – she started by running and bucking for a few minutes.

Nu är hon äntligen här! Min Honey.

She is finally home! My Honey. She travelled well but she needs a lot of rest.

You can se that her stomach has a line – probably due to a little to less drinking during travel – even if the transporter said she did fine. But, it is long road for them. Within just a day she had lost it.

The plan was to introduce Honey to Calinka but Calinka looked more like she would like to kill Honey and got her all stressed up from the pasture close by. So, I had to go and get Whizzy – a much better choice.

Honey even started to groom Whizzy.

I found them sleeping together the following day.

Min amerikanska

My American

Now and then have I got questions about my American horse: “ Didn’t you buy a horse from US? When does she arrive” is the usual one. “Yes, I have a horse in US”, and “No, I don’t know when she arrives”, have been my answer.

Honey has been at the stallion since April, but it has been a lot of trouble so she hasn’t been pregnant. Until now. It is still very new, but I have started to plan for the trip and contacted the freight company to get them to set a date. I want her to be at least 45 days pregnant so the most sensitive period is over. Then it is only a matter of finding a travel date and if she manage to stay pregnant, but you’ll can never guarantee that. But I hope that it won’t be so much more time until Honey arrives; I am so curious and have being longing so long for that horse.
