Whizzy inte välkommen

För första gången har jag haft svårt att introducera en häst i flocken. Calinka avskydde tydligen Whizzy bara hon fick syn på henne och försökte jaga henne hem till Holland igen… Så det var bara att separera dem när hon inte gav upp. Till och med inne i stallet var Calinka fly förbannad bara Whizzy visade sig. Så har Calinka aldrig visat sig tidigare,; min tanke var att hon skulle bli en bra och lung introduktion till flocken men istället blev hon raka motsatsen.

Lite senare försökte jag med Percy och det verkade gå bra, men när jag kom hem från den korta skrittur jag tagit med Calinka var både Percy och Whizzy svettiga eftersom Percy skoningslöst jagade Whizzy hagen runt…

Iris har däremot tack och lov tyckt att det är kul med en kompis så de går tillsammans och Whizzy trivs allt bättre. Första dagarna var hon lite reserverad (inte konstigt med tanke på mottagandet hon fick) men nu blir hon mysigare och mysigare och visar allt mer vilken underbar häst hon är.

Att jag inte vill ha ett par ettåringar själv har jag hittils inte kunnat lösa. Vi får se om det går att introducera någon av de äldre stona om ett tag, Calinka är i alla fall inte förbannad i stallet längre. Annars får tiden gå lite till så kanske det ger sig hoppas jag. Just nu är jag inte så sugen på ett nytt ihopsläpp.

Whizzy isn’t welcome

For the first time I have had trouble introducing a new horse in the herd. CAlinka hated Whizzy instantly and tried to get her to run back to Netherlands… So I had to separate them as she didn’t give up. Even in the stable Calinka wanted to kill Whizzy. Calinka has never been like that before, my plan was that she would be the old, stable company that would introduce her to the herd but she became the opposite.

I tried with Percy a little later and they seemd ok. But when I came back from my short walk with Calinka both were sweaty as Percy chase Whizzy around the pasture…

Iris has (thankfully) been happy to get a friend and they do fine together. Whizzy starts to like us more and more and get cuddlier and cuddlier. The first days she was a bit reserved but who can blame her after such a reception? She is showing more and more of her lovely character.

I don’t really like to keep the one year old alone together but so far I don’t have any good solution. Hopefully I can introduce the older mares later but I wait a little longer. Calinka is at least not pissed of in the stable any more.
