Peppers tisdag
Today it was Pepper’s day to work. As usual he started our time together trying to nip. I know this is stallion behaviour and that he is a bit bored and that it could be ways much worse. But I still don’t like it. Today I got angry, not angry as some other times when I have disciplined him, but more kind of angry from the inside. And it worked! He is so sensitive about my inside. I know horses are, but the mares are not at all as him. I think it is that he wants a leader that now what it wants, someone that tells how things should be done. And not by threats but rather by the energy that person is showing. (Sounds a little awkward, I know, just don’t have any better way to explain it).
I think need to move more into that role – I haven’t neede that for years with Calinka. Horses really tries to make you a better person. The long reining then? He worked really well and in the end he started to stretch down and forward while gaiting. He keep a nice contact with the bit – even if he left me with basically nothing in my hands. He worked better than ever even if there still is a lot to do. The quarter in starts to work ok and I have begun introducing leg yielding.
It would be fun if I could get it on video…
