Måndag dressyr och målning
A wonderful evening! I didn’t really know what horse to work, but as Calinka stood by the gait…We did some dressage but if felt as she wasn’t working totally honest and that the problem was in her upper neck. She worked better and better and the canters in the end was really nice with high and collected steps (unusual for the lady). She was unexpectedly warm afterwards (guess she worked well) and it was daylight all time!
As the farrier is arriving at Thursday and Calinka can’t be shod without tranquilizers if I haven’t got the hind shoes of (long story behind that) I started to get the shoes of. I am NOT good at getting shoes of and don’t have any good tools either. After about an hours work both hind feet was shoeless, sadly a small part of the hoof as well. That is the first time I manged to do that, I really need to get some better tools until next time the farrier is going to visit (as the tools, or lack thereof was the main reason to this). Otherwise it would be better to use tranquilizers… The farrier is not going to be happy with me.
Some earth have been removed from a big pile in the pasture and therefore they made some extra, preliminary fencing. Therefore Percy got caught close to the stable = she didn’t find the way to the pasture that is close to the arena. She run back and fourth and got Pepper to join her. Sadly I couldn’t photograph them, they was so beautiful.
Before I got home I took the head lamp and a big bucket of paint to paint the stall doors. Now they are beautifully black. I nearly waited with the upper part of the doors but it looked so stupid that I got a bucket to stand on too reach the final centimeters. It was not only the door that got beautifully black – my hands did as well. My husband wasn’t very amused by that and got me out of bed (he didn’t see it until then) with the reason that I couldn’t go to work looking like that.
