True Mountain horses

Isac and Calinka
The Röyter family and me and my kids meet in the stable today. While the kids played (running around and talking to each other in the strollers) Björn and I took of with Calinka and Pepper. The preparations for the jousting games is up, but the horses were calm. As they had started to make sausage I joked and said that we should have had one “ride thru”. We went around the lake and Pepper showed that he could do terrain when we had to get off road to pass beside a pasture that now is full of cows. Over stones and logs, thru very soft ground and between tree that are close together. Back home more tent had been added so we hardly made it back. Luckily the horses were calm.

The it were the kids time – and Calinka and Percy’s. Just to get back and squeeze thru again, but with two strollers and a dog added. Wonder what people that meet us thought. Luckily I have cool mountain horses (and a clever old lady).

Tea one of those mornings that I have been checking at Bunny. And no – still no foal.
Pepper is shedding and going for a steel grey look – but have two whiter spots left as seen here.

En dröm i uppfyllelse

OK, it wasn’t easy to photo.

A dream comes true

I have dreamed about trail ride with my child since I got my first baby. Just have some nice time together. Today that dream came true. Ok, it wasn’t much of a dream ride, but it is nice that Isac is old enough.I rode Bunny and Isac sat on Percy while I ponied him. But, today the mares were reluctant to leave home, so I got more struggle than I had expected. I think it might be time to let them rest before having foals, but not long ago they really liked to be out.
Got both horses to pass thru this water on our way home.

Promenad

Pepper has often put his head at Percys back recently. And it is kind of an invite…
…but, I am quite certain that he really likes to cuddle like that as well.  Percy is not impressed when it is an invite…
Today David and I went to the stable. He wanted to talk to the horses himself and mummy wasn’t allowed to ride. So, Bunny, Mika I and David in the stroller took a walk instead.

Fun with the kids

The farrier was scheduled to show Calinka and as I were home alone with the kids they had to go with me. I tried to find something fun for Isac as he doesn’t like to join me to the horses anymore. As we skied behind the horses this weekend I thought that might be fun for him. When Calinka had gotten her shoes we brought out Bunny to try. It went find and Isac liked it, but David got tired soon of looking at us from the stroller. Back to the stable and switch horse, Isac wanted to ride as well and then David would be closer with us. Percy had some energy and really liked to be out and nearly wanted to obey her riders wished to go fast to much. David set the time limit this time as well, when he started to get bored we had to turn and get back home. But, me, the kids, Mika, Bunny and Percy had a wonderful day! (Even Isac had a lot if fun).

2013 i bilder

It was a long winter full of snow.

We got new people helping us with the horses.

Ullekalvs Antea was born April 14.
In April Sylvia’s Rockies arrived, and in the summer Rockies arrived in Denmark.

When Tea got a little bit older she and her mum got to meet Pepper.

Jousting games at the castle, as usual in May, we used the scene for photos.

Percy and I nearly had the same due day.

Ullekalvs Embla was born June 19.

David, our son that was born  June 26, grew as well as Embla.

All rockies in one picture – spending some time in a real herd.

All horses tried to jump…
During the warmer months we got some visitors, here is one of them.

Pepper loves to play with me.

Hosting a TREC traning. Calinka and Percy participated.
RMHAs Pink Ride to get money for breast cancer research.

We tried rythem bead – Isac really like the pretty necklace and wanted to use it all the time on all horses…

I November I experienced my first hoof abscess – and then Tea got it back and Embla got one as well…
Embla grew up and left for her new home December 27.

Tea has grown as well. She stays with us to be a future brood mare.
It might not be very obvious yet, but we are expecting two foals in May 2014.
