All my Rockies in one picture!
Veckan har rullat på, promenader för vissa, tömkörning,  ridturer och ytterligare ett försök med löshoppning. Avslutningsvis fick jag besök och visade upp hästarna – eller snarare lät besökaren fixa med hästarna.

The week

Calinka
Last week moved away quickly : some got walked, some long reined, all got trail rides or dressage and I did one more try with jumping. The week ended with a visitor that got to meet the horses – and work them a bit.

Ihopsläpp av fölen – bildbomb

First meeting. I let only the mares and foal out together at first.

When we left, everyone seemed happy and calm.

Hela sommaren har jag längtat efter denna dag: dagen då fölen skulle få leka med varandra. Det enda tråkiga är att nu kommer Calinka och Pepper få turas om att gå själva tills fölen vänjs av – då får de gå med Calinka.

Introducing the foals to each other

All summer I have waited for the day that the foals could play with each other. The only boring thing is that now Pepper and Calinka have to take turns to be alone until the foals are weaned. Then the foals is going to be with Calinka.

Pepper had to walk around all the pasture and sniff it out – seemed as he didn’t care much about his mares.
Pepper and Percy hasn’t been in the same pasture for some time and needed to talk a little again.

Träning

In your face – one reason why I have few pictures from the pasture…
Äntligen har det flutit på i en eller ett par veckor: alla hästar har blivit tränade som jag önskat! Pepper har fått jobba en del, idag dressyr, i lördags uteritt med Calinka. Calinka har också fått jobba på, mest ute på vägarna och har börjat galopperas. Bunny och Percy har också varit ute nästan varannan dag och jobbat lite lätt på vägarna eller stubbåkern.
Hoppas vi kan hålla detta upp minst en månad. Då kan hästarna delta i ett par roliga aktiviteter som är på gång…

Training

Finally everything has been going according to plan. All horses have been worked regularly the last weeks. Pepper has gotten some time to work: today dressage, Saturday 30 minutes at the roads with Calinka. Calinka has also been worked, mostly on the trails; now she has started to canter. Percy and Bunny have also been out nearly every second day and worked slightly on the roads around her or at the field.
I hope we can keep this up for at least a month. then the horses can participate in a lot of fun things that is coming up…

Löshoppning

OK, jag har inte nästa hoppstjärna, det är då säkert… Med lite tur kanske vi kan lära oss att ta oss över mindre hinder. Jag försökte uppmuntra dem genom att låta dem vara flera stycken, men det hjälpte inte heller. Till och med Calinka som vet hur man gör verkade ha glömt bort det…Förvisso har jag inga bra möjligheter till löshoppning och det är därför jag inte provat det innan, men ändå. Jag hade hopppats på någon dold hopptalang.
The only horse that actually chose to jump (twice), even if she got bored an broke out of the enclosure shortly after this … Is she my best jumping horse?

Att försöka fota samtidigt som man driver hästar och har ett barn i bärsels på mage är inte heller helt okomplicerat. Så, tja  skärpan blev sådär.

Jumping

Three in a row.
Ok – I don’t have the next jumping star, that’s for sure… With some luck we might learn to pass some smaller jumps. I tried to encourage them by letting them be more than one, but that didn’t help much either. Even Calinka that knows how to do it seems to have forgotten… I don’t have any good possibility for jumping, that is why I haven’t tried this before. Still I had hoped for some hidden talent.
To try to take pictures while you drive the horse and carry a baby at your stomach has its limitations. Just saying.
Pepper isn’t much of a jumper so far – but showed of nicely.
Afterwards we took a walk; Isac at Calinka’s back, David at my stomach and Mika running along.

Lastträning

Some food to start with..
Sedan de kom till Sverige har ingen av mina Rockies lastats och innan dess har de inte heller åkt så mycket. Bunny fick jag tom höra när hon klev av lastbilen att jag nog behövde lastträna henne… Amerikanska transporter är dessutom annorlunda: ofta större, ingen ramp utan step up och ibland saknas fönster men det är öppet istället. Så, i går blev det av, lastträning. Varje häst fick nog  omkring 10 minuters träning och även om vi inte stängde igen känner jag mig ganska säker på att vi skulle komma iväg ifall vi måste.
(Och jag missade att fota Embla och Percy, men de skötte sig lika bra).

Trailer training

…and then she got all the way…
As they came to Sweden none of my Rockies have been loaded and before that they hadn’t travel much either. The man unloading Bunny even told me that she need some training… American trailers are often different: bigger, a step up and sometimes there are no windows, but open. Yesterday we trained loading. Every horse got about 10 minutes. even if we didn’t close the door I feel rather confident that if we have to get away we do that. 
(And I forgot to photo Embla and Percy but they did as good as the others).

We got both onboard at the same time…
Pepper didn’t like to get of – I think he didn’t like the ramp.
Calinka – the one that was hardest to load – she got a new trick and refused to bend her neck so she walked sideways…
Isac and Tora rode Calinka afterwards.
