10 september föddes våran tredje son. Allt gick bra och vi var snart hemma igen. Självklart tog det bara ett par dagar innan vi tog en promenad för att titta till hästarna och introducera nytillskottet. Fölen var nyfikna medan Iris och Honey ansåg att barnvagnen verkade ganska farlig – och även det som var i den och lät. Efter några dagar var de helt lugna med vagnen och brydde sig inte alls. Även om jag var förvånad att de brydde sig någon gång. Vagnen verkade nästan farligare än tröskan…
Third child
September 10 was our third son born. Everything went fine and we were soon home again. It didn’t take many days until we took a walk to watch the horses and introduce the newest family member. The foals were rather curious but Iris and Honey found the stroller kind of scary, as well as its content. After some days they didn’t care any more. But, I were surprised that they reacted at all. Seems as a baby nearly is more scary than the combine harvester…
Vi fick besökare och jag tänkte att det kunde vara kul att visa hur hästarna reagerade på ett nytt objekt. Passade därför på att ta med en plastdelfin som jag bara visat några av hästarna en gång tre år tidigare. Eftersom jag och David var själva hemma fick han följa med. Han tycker det är hans delfin så han kom att vara den som höll på med den. Fyraåringar är inte alltid lätta att styra eller inser vad som kan upplevas som farligt av hästar. Nåja, allting gick bra även om jag fick ingripa och lugna ner honom lite flera gånger eller se till att han inte befann sig i för farliga situationer. Därav blev det sådär kvalité på filmen. Hästarna reagerade däremot superbra och lbev inte ens särskilt rädda trots Davids tappra försök.
The horses and the dolphin
We got visitors and I thought it could be fun to show how the horses reacted to a novel object. Therefore I brought a plastic dolphin that I only had shown some of the horses once three years earlier. As me and David were home alone he joined us. He thinks it is his dolphin so he took charge of it. Four year old don’t always understand what horses might think is scary so I had my hands full with talking to the visitors and keeping David in some kind of control. More than once I had to try to get him to cool down and get out of potentially dangerous situations. Therefore photos and movie isn’t in the best quality. Still, the horses really reacted good.
We also brought the dolphin to the other pasture, but I only got this picture from that. (Iris & Whizzy is investigating it)

Insulators on the poles – check. Fence line free of branches and bushes – check. Now we only need to get rid of the branches…
Nu är det inte lång tid kvar tills sista födseln på Ullekalv. Min effektivitet är låg – det känns som om det inte blir mycket mer gjort än vad jag gjorde efter jobbet förut på hela dagen.
Mycket fungerar inte på grund av min egen kropp – slå staketstolpar eller rida är exempelvis inte så lätt även om båda borde göras.

Men, jag har hittat lite jag kan göra – skruva fast isolatorer gick bra liksom att såga och klippa bort grenar i ett hörn av hagen. Få se om jag kan hitta några mera lämpliga sysslor. Och – man kan ju alltid engagera andra. Mannen arbetar med lösdrifterna och vi har haft en grävmaskin här som tagit bort stubbar i trädgård och i hage. Dessutom fick hela ladugården en ny omgång rödfärg härrom dagen.

Low efficiency
It isn’t much time left before the years last birth at Ullekalv. I am not very efficient right now and it feels as I don’t get more done in a whole day than I used to do after work some time. Many things don’t functions to do either because of my body. To get poles down for the fence or ride isn’t easy for me these days. (So I don’t do that.)
All the barn fully painted. It is such an improvement. (Now I start to dream about getting the doors and windows fixed but I know there are other things on the farm that is more urgent)
Some of the stumps that we had dug up from the old entrance road that was surrounded by birches.
But, I found somethings that I can do: insulators on the fence and clearing some branches away in a corner. I’ll see if I can find some more suitable things to do. And you can always engage others. My husband works with the sheds and we had a excavator here that dug up stumps in our garden and the pasture. The barn got a new layer of red paint yesterday.Some of the stumps that once were part of the birches that grew along the entrance road. No that is going to be part of the pasture.
