Dressyr

Calinka, testing the new fly rug…

Trying to bring one horse inside…
Percy?

Yesterday I was “horse free” – but Marias dog got swollen and had to visit the vet (Most probably a large reaction to a bee sting). So I went to watch the horses late in the evening. Shortly after I was on Calinkas back. A totally ok dressage work.
Today was Peppers turn. Dressage I thought – boring said Pepper. Even that some people grilled close by (flames from the grill? – no problem according to Pepper) he behaved well, even if he was a bit lazy. Therefore we ended with some times on the road.
The horses needs there hoods right now – both Pepper and Calinka have gotten irritated in there eyes without them.
Percy? She just wanted to be cuddled and wondered why she wasn’t worked.

Calinka and I enjoyed the beautiful summer evening (this is how light it is between 20.00-21.00 right now) . But Calinka hsd prefferd the “fly riding rug”. And that she could have run more and faster. I insisted on slowing down as she is not in a very good shape. Percy wanted to join us, and showed some unknown talents – opening gates. Twice. Apparently she pushed the wood gate, that we use very seldom, until it got open. Thanks goodness that she didn’t hurt herself, or run into Peppers pasture. Luckily there was neighbors that caught her (twice).  I had about 15 – 20 minutes to get back home on a tired (but not admitting it) Calinka.
After heading of, turn left at the yellow sign.
When getting to the big building in the background, turn right.

…then you get on this road…

…that takes you to the forrest ….and you can speed it up…

..continue to canter – at least if Calinka decides…

you have to turn right at the end of the road, and rather soon you get to this…
..and this…turn right at then end of this road as well…

..that gets slightly downhill into this, but turn right, don’t pass the barns here… And then you get home on roads like this, like 20- 30 minutes later (if continue with some speed). In total – 1 hour and 20 minutes with Calinka and some walking – if she decides – one hour probably. Enjoy!

A Rabbit?

Some of the pictures is from when we tried to make white corners at the shelter…
A dog and a horse, a little bit dark and it gets difficult to get a sharp picture… Still, I like it in some kind of way. Look closely at Mika and you see that she is on a leash. My self, bare back on Calinka. We cantered this way (while I didn’t make photos…)

Pepper looking at the new pasture (that never seems to be finished). He really likes this corner of his pasture. I am standing on a “cliff” in the mares pasture.

Maria warming up Percy before making a video for Percys certification

Percy is curious…

Pepper is curious, a second later he is close to me.

..have to check this out…

Percy still can’t get enough of her new “toy”

Maybe I can taste Ingrid a little while she is at the ladder…this horse don’t give up… (we tried to scare her away – impossible).

At least Pepper could keep a couple of feet away while working in his pasture…

Yesterday I rained mostly all day. Somehow I managed to head of with Calinka and Mika. and not get wet. Mika was the one that needed some exercise most. We had some nice, bare back canters (with dog in leash)! We was so content all three, and they obeyed so well and listens so well! There is a certain contact after some years. Time told that we had been away for an hour – it was a long time since I had been out that long…
Today Percy was measured for certification (14.2 H). Pepper got a CEM test – it is required for all stallions that have been abroad prior to breeding. As the vet was late and Isac slept like rock in the car I long reined Pepper for nearly half an hour. He was very upset with the wind, but worked fine after some time. When he was ready and Isac still slept I took a very short ride on Percy bare back. She has definitely put on some weight, but I still have problem to find a proper balance at her.
