Dålig inspiration
Calinka and I went for 40 minute on the roads in the neighborhood. I thought I had found a new road, but it turned out to be a “dead end”.
Before it got totally dark outside I got Pepper on a walk together with Mika.We tried to find a new way but got hindered by fencing. It mostly went well, but the walk raised my blood pressure. Sometimes the dog don’t want to move forward – or the horse wants to move to fast, or they start to change sides or.. It works while walking on a road but in a pasture trying to find a gate it is a little bit harder. Besides I manged to get my feet in water and the shoes got totally wet.
Then Calinka showed of. When the long reining equipment got on her she made better shoulder in and quarter in than ever. The frame was not very good, but that was solved after her got to canter. Then she started to chew on the bit and got new gaits. Apparently she has missed not to be long reined for a while. She really showed to me that Pepper still has a lot to learn.
Saturday morning – snow and wind! I got Percy tacked up for a ride even if the weather nearly made me change my plans. I got on Percy and noticed that she already has learn Calinkas way – start to walk as soon as the human is on the back. has to train that. Nearly directly she wanted to start to gait – and gaited better than ever. We had a discussion about when starting to gait, but otherwise it all went so well that I decided to not turn back but follow the field instead. Then she got scared by two birds that flew up from the water in the ditch beside the field. Shortly afterwards she showed me that she has an amazing canter! WOW! She felt like a rocking horse.
When I had tacked up Calinka the weather was even worse. After a short warm up we cantered two laps around a pasture in the vicinity. I played a bit with Pepper in his field – he tends to be very frisky while windy outside. The I did some cleaning in the stable.
Calinka didn’t show up until it was feeding time. Guess she think she did her part yesterday.
